OPTICTUNA is a queer printmaker based on occupied Dakhota land known as the twin cities.
Red’s work centers the queer experience, community building, and environmental justice, and works primarily in linocut and silkscreening. Red believes in cheap art that has the ability to walk around in the world on its own, which is why they focus on translating most of their designs to t-shirts. They also give time to art and environmental movements—art deserves to be seen and Red firmly believes in the power of art to not just start conversations, but to leverage change.
Red grew up in Southern Indiana. and now calls Minnesota home. When not making art, you can find them starting into the abyss of a triple quad mass spec looking for forever chemicals, or just staring into a clear blue sky and chasing after bugs.
20% of all sales generated from Red’s art goes to mutual and community aid in the twin cities area. You can learn more about this process here.
