20% all sales go to mutual and community aid in the twin cities ares in MN.
Hi! The design you’re looking at was designed and/or hand-printed by Red—that’s me! I’m a queer, butch, independent artist working under the name OPTICTUNA somewhere known as the Twin Cities on occupied Wahpekute land. Most of my designs are informed by my experience by growing up trans in Southern Indiana and the residual anger I have carried with me, though many of my newer designs feature queer bliss and trans joy as I enter what might be the happiest period of my life so far! I add new design about once every 1-2 months to Etsy. I also sell prints on INPRNT and you can find more of my work in Instagram @optictuna for both.
Most of my original designs were linoleum carvings that I have digitalized and transferred to silkscreens to facilitate consistent printing results.
I also give my time and art skills to community organizing primarily around trans, environmental, and food justice.
All patches are printed on 100% pre-shrunk natural cotton using water-based ink.
as of February 2023: 20% sales to mutual and community aid: https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1mdMqMNp1BN5uVbTehEyvAWeeA3-dP90qBal82WUO9CY/edit?usp=sharing
✷ Sliding Scale ✷
sliding scale pricing: I am committed to making my art affordable to all income levels and financial situations, temporary or systemic. Select the amount you are able/willing to pay, this is an honor based system. Item quality, size, or contribution to mutual aid will not be impacted by the amount of money you are able to spend. DM me if you have any questions.
✷ Garment and Print Care ✷
To maintain the vibrancy and longevity of your print, wash shirts inside-out in cold water, tumble dry low or line dry. All ink is fabric grade and has been heat set so is ready to last years of wear. That being said, these shirts are just as rugged as any other of your shirts so wear and live in these shirts like you would any other—I’m still wearing shirts that I printed way back in 2016!
✷ Appearance ✷
Lighting and display settings can have a drastic impact on appearance though I try to photograph all products as true-to-life as possible with minimal editing.
✷ Printing by Hand ✷
This design is printed by hand. As such, there will be small variations from print to print, though this is kept to a minimum due to quality control. Shirts with greater print issues are sold at a significant discount in the ‘Mysteries and Misprints’ listing in my shop.
✷ Packaging ✷
All orders are shipped in minimal, all paper packaging to reduce waste.
I usually pack and send orders within a couple days of receiving them. If you need something sooner, message me and I can move it to the front of the queue.
✷ Shipping - Patches ✷
Patches are sent by USPS First Class Mail, which includes tracking. You have the option select USPS Priority Mail for faster shipping.
Adding any sticker from my shop is an easy way to qualify for the $30 order minimum for free shipping within the US.
✷ Damaged Products ✷
Please reach out to me as soon as you see an issue with the product you received and we will work something out—whether that is a refund or a replacement.
✷ Returns and Exchanges ✷
At this time, I do not accept returns.
✷ Sustainability ✷
Products are shipped in minimal paper packaging. Local pickup is preferred when possible. Plastic will never be used in any packaging or shirt materials.
